The short, honest version.

Vesper asks for very little, uses it for very little, and shares it with no one. This page is written to be read, not skimmed past — every section is plain language, and the whole thing is deliberately short.

The short version

Vesper collects the minimum it needs to run a waitlist and a community: what you type into the join form, plus aggregate website analytics. Your data isn't sold, rented, fed to advertisers, or used to train anything. One person — the founder — reads what you submit, and you can have it deleted any time by asking.

What the join form collects

The join form (on the homepage) asks for and stores exactly these fields: your name, email address, age, country, city, what you're looking for, and an optional note about why you joined. The age field exists for two reasons: Vesper is an adults-only (18+) community, so submissions from people under 18 are rejected and never sent anywhere; and the age of who's finding Vesper helps plan groups of people at similar life stages.

How the form data is used

Form submissions go to Vesper's form service (Formspree) and are delivered to the founder. They are used to plan Vesper — understanding where potential members are, what they want, and which experiments to run first — and to contact you about Vesper itself: a question worth answering, a survey, or news about the first small groups.

That's the entire list. Your answers are never sold or shared with third parties for their own use, never used for advertising, and never combined with data from other services to build a profile of you.

Who can see your data

The founder of Vesper currently reads every submission. Formspree, the form processor, necessarily stores and transmits submissions on Vesper's behalf — you can read Formspree's own privacy policy for their side of the arrangement. Beyond that, nobody: there is no team, no office, and no one else with access.

Vercel Analytics (this website)

This site uses Vercel Analytics to understand traffic in aggregate: page views, referrers, countries, and rough device types. Vercel Analytics is designed to be cookieless and does not fingerprint your browser or track you across other websites. It stays on regardless of the Google Analytics choice because it records no personal data.

Google Analytics 4 (this website) — only if you allow it

This site can use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use Vesper: page views, referring pages, approximate location, browser and device details, and which buttons are used (for example, which “Join the waitlist” link someone clicked). It uses cookies, so it is controlled by you: visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland see it switched off until they choose “Allow analytics”; elsewhere a small notice offers the same choice, and “No thanks” switches it off.

Whichever you choose is remembered on your device, and you can change it any time with “Analytics choices” in the footer. We do not send names, email addresses, ages or waitlist answers to Google Analytics. Advertising features are switched off — Vesper does not run ads, build ad audiences, or sell this information. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy policy.

What this site stores on your device

Two small items, both in your browser’s local storage and never sent anywhere by Vesper: your analytics choice, and — after you join — a marker that this browser has already joined, so your Discord invite is still there if you come back. Clearing your browser data removes both; the “Use the form again” link on the thank-you panel removes the second.

Discord (the community space)

The Discord server is where the community lives. Joining it is one click from any “Join the Discord” button on the site — no waitlist form required. (If you take the optional waitlist form, the same invite appears on the thank-you screen.) Anything you do inside Discord (your account, messages, activity) is governed by Discord's own privacy policy, not this one. Inside the server, the same rule applies as everywhere at Vesper: what you share is used to build the community, nothing more.

What is never collected

  • No payment details — there is nothing to buy while Vesper is a community
  • No precise location tracking, device fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking by Vesper
  • No names, email addresses, ages or waitlist responses sent to Google Analytics — and no Google Analytics at all unless you allow it
  • No data from anyone under 18 — their submissions are rejected on the spot
  • No messages or activity exported from Discord

How long data is kept

Waitlist submissions are kept while Vesper is active and you remain on the list. If Vesper ever winds down or you ask to be removed, the data is deleted rather than archived. Vercel and Google retain analytics data according to their own standard policies; Vesper does not export it into other tools.

Your choices, always

You can ask to see what Vesper holds about you, correct it, or delete it entirely — a short message is enough, and it's handled personally, not by a ticketing system. Leaving the list means exactly that: no further contact, data removed. You will never be nagged, dark-patterned, or made to jump through hoops to leave.

Changes to this page

If this policy meaningfully changes — new data types, new services — the change will be announced to the list before it takes effect, not buried in a footer. The date below always reflects the current version.

Contact

Questions, requests, or worries about any of this: message the founder in the Discord community. A real person answers.

Ready when you are — the form takes a minute, and this page has said everything that happens to it.
